Hi everyone I'm looking at getting back in to amateur radio and looking in to the courses etc. Back in 2003/4 I did my m3 and got a call sign but I let it lapse. Can I just reapply? The only problem is that I can't remember my call sign apart from the m3 bit! Any help would be great please 73's Gary

Ofcom might be able to help , although if you were a member of the RSGB at anytime that would be another route .

If the holder of an Amateur Radio Licence were to take a break from the hobby (surrendering his or her licence) but subsequently reapplied for an Amateur Radio Licence, they may resume use of the old call sign, if it remains available.

After a load of emails and phone calls sadly Ofcom couldn't find anything. I kept talking to a very helpful man at the RSGB and eventually one of his colleagues found my pass certificate from 2003. They sent that to Ofcom yesterday and I logged on today and got my licence! I'm not even a member of the RSGB but they still went out of their way to help me. Needless to say I will be joining. 73's Gary

They really can, I'm very surprised. It was a m3 so it's long gone 73's
