Yer, the DV27 is quite a surprising old work horse. Got my first one in 1982 with a ground plane kit and that got out amazingly well! I was limited to CB activities during my early teens to the garden shed. Dad stuck a 10ft pole attached to the side of it with the DV on top. Great antenna when tuned properly from my experience. I was only on FM and my QTH Chistlehurst, I got the Isle of sheppey absolutely no problem about 30 miles away!

Keep it up Daragh! The more you pick up, the more fascinating the hobby is, have as peek at Fred In The Shed's YouTube Channel, a plethora of great info

The DV27 was my first aerial on a biscuit tin at the top of the stairs lol.
Was back in 1979 but i only had AM back then but it was all good fun and i don't remember any headbangers back then not like today.
