Started out in late 70s at school with one of them little American crystal controlled Walkie Talkie CBs. Might of been two channel. Put a dipole up outside my bedroom window. Back then it was impossible not to get a copy so that led to bigger antenna and radios via all my new buddies. Proper crazy years. Liked to play and buy old military gear from Thackers Cheslyn Hay. Tank dipole were popular from there. Spent a lot of time around the CB shops West Mids and meetings at the truck stops plus some clubs of the time. Last time was on air in UK was back in 2006 with Delta Force Magnum and Icom big hf thingy radio. Used to buy broken rigs and fix em up which was fun. Anyway 9 years in China and back UK 2015, bought some baofengs for PMR and listening to Coastal chatter. Moved back here to Stone, Staffs and now setting up Lincoln. Just knocked up a box to easily drop the rig in and out of car, going to fit in car today on gearbox tunnel. Got one of them short antenna with the rings for driving about with and red devil thing with big whip for parking up and try some DX. So i requesting a CT call sign so i feel like i know what I'm doing when i catch some skip. Pat aka MrTang.

I'm sure our resident all round nice guy Mr Gary Wilson will be along to issue you a call sign soon. (He's usually issuing callsigns everyday! Unsung hero he is )
Sounds like you have an interesting background and you dove straight in the forum offering information and help. Great stuff!

Thanks Victor, appreciate the welcome. No rush on call sign. Waiting on VNA to arrive so can check out my antenna, not happy with SWR on my new antennas. Seems they prefer 10 meters rather than 11 meter, but i have a cunning plan for them.
