I was around in Leicester on am 40 channels mid block with twice high and 3 times low during the early 80's. I made many overseas contacts during that time. The 11 year sun spot cycle was amazing. people from outer Mongolia could have been right outside in their yurts, along with enjoying the usual local good bad, and the ugly.
The local rig doctor was Dave, cubwolf.
