After 41 years of 'freebanding' on 11m I finally went for my HAM license. I didn't attend any training classes, I did everything on my own. On Sept. 2nd I took the exam and I passed with only 2 faults! (12 was allowed)
I'm awaiting my official registration, which can take up to 6 weeks over here in the Netherlands. In the mean time I'm very busy working on my new shack. I bought a Yaesu FT-991A with an MD-100 desk mike. Of course it has the modification which opens up the 11m band as well. It looks great next to my President Lincoln ll Plus! My aerial for HF will be a HyEndFed wire, which is resonant on 40, 20, (11) and 10m. For VHF and UHF I'm going to use a Diamond X-50N. The Antron A99 is going down.
My callsign is going to be PD0CT. Yes indeed; the 'CT' part is dedicated to the DX-group that brought me so much joy in the past!
Never forget your roots!
Cheers! 19CT006 / PD0CT (to become)
By the way: Why am I being considered a 'new member'?? I've been with CT since 2012...

Congratulations!
If you haven't already bought your EFHW, have a look at the HF Kits - local to you, good to deal with, great quality, and the satisfaction of having built it yourself. I ran their 8010 shortened version for a bit, though I am now back to a full length wire with a higher powered transformer being built for the imminent arrival of a linear amp.

Thnx for the tip Jeff and thnx for the congrats everyone!
However, I've really made up my mind about the HyEndFed. I truly believe it's the best end fed wire ever...
