£200
Yeah I like that old Stalker, I think mine was a second generation of the first Stalker 9's because mine had FM on it too plus the AM ,SSB,(not UKFM like the very late 9fdx) cos my mate had one the same as mine but it must have a very been early one because his was only AM,SSB both was 80 channel though.

The Euro DX band is alive right now (14:00). France, Italy, The Netherlands, all very strong.
Edit: It lasted for just one hour.

Good stuff, Martin. They are fantastic radios, they sound so good on receive on ssb and are rock solid on frequency stability.
I still use mine regularly. It has fm and the uk40 on it, so it must be one of the later ones and I have the stealth front on it too.

You must have one of the last of them the 9Fdx ,that's what I would like to get but all the one I've seen people ask stupid money for them, and TBH the prices of some old radios people ask for I wouldn't pay dont care how rare they think they are, especially when I can remember the price of them when they was brand new in the old days LOL

I know what you mean, Martin. I bought mine off Ronnie CT980 on here. I got it plus: the stealth front, Cobra 200 mic and a Astatic Teardrop for a good price. Probably my favourite radio. I also have a black fronted President Jack, boxed with fm and the 80ch mod, which has the same board in it.

Who old Rocket Ronnie ,theres a old blast from the past lol, another lovely little radio the President Jack ,I do like the old President radios ,I use to have a Black Front President Jackson 6 bander if you remember, that had some mod done to it with adjustable power and some mod to the modulation because it was unbelievable, not being big headed but people started giving me complements on here( well the old old forum) saying they could hear me loud up North on the T5 ,I though they was winding me cos i couldn't hear them but someone sent me a recording on WhatsApp I couldn't believe it John , I shouldn't have sold it really but some guy in Scotland sent me a P.M after seeing people praising it on the old shoutbox and he made me offer I couldn't refuse so it went to him if it was or is in the condition I sold it to in I would have that back mate 100%.

Yes, old Rocket Ronnie, Martin. I met up with him in Matlock, as it was about halfway for us both. It was the same type of thing you got with the Jackson. Every time I spoke to him on the Stalker it sounded so good and I always said, if you ever decide to sell it. I was keen to get it, as I knew Ronnie never bought any rubbish and used to look after his radios.
I remember your Jackson, a very nice radio. I still have a black fronted six bander, it is standard apart from the finals. Unfortunately the original blew as someone had turned the biasing up. I think it was an MRF455, but the originals were mega expensive, so had an SC1969 fitted. I think the legs had to be twisted around to make it fit. So the power is lower at 10w pep on ssb, but it is ideal for driving an amp.

Do you know what John you saying about MRF445's when I had look inside my Jackson o may be wrong but I'm sure there was two of those on like a separate little board at the back of the the chassis I definitely 100% know it had 445's on them because when I turned up the variable power knob on the back up full I could get 80watts on AM FM well according to the power meter lol.

They are really good, Martin and those Jacksons have got a massive heat sink on the back of them too. It was about five or six years ago when I hade them replaced and the price was staggering. I saw some original mrf and they were around £50 each.

Just acquired a President Richard the older type black front. Covers 26.?? to 29 i think it was. Has a counter wired in to the main board and a plug connector 2" out of the back. Gave it a test this morning and it works very well. Got the pb-010ac board i think it's like the 3900 ???? go on put me right.

The one i have has better coverage that stated on that site almost 26 to 30 MHz. Tested it out this morning and it's now on the shelf and more than likely stay there till i sell it. Got my ft991a to play nicely with lol. Can't find one to get an idea of worth.

Here is a idea Alan but I think this a normal ebay dreamer price, if yours is in good condition me I would say more of the £150 to(if boxed £200) range. there mainly found on French ebay because President is a French company

Mine is the Richard and the frequency counter is external. It was fitted by a ham as he left his call sign inside. Radio looks just like a 148gtl-dx but black and more bands.
