I have one ot those Stalkers too, Steve, it has the black stealth front on it with the 27/81 roundel. I still use it regularly. I also have a mk2 Superstar 360fm with the stealth front on it.

Same here in the south, nothing heard in the last few days. I've been working from home so have had the radio on pretty much all day everyday and not heard a thing.

Thought I would switch on see what's about , from 27:555 usb upwards is just loud crackle noise which sounds atmospheric to me and not someone's house electronics interference for once lol, and the rest ie: Mids/EU is totally silent .down on 26mhz the same crackle as the T5,so as normal zzzźzz TBH its getting to the point if nobody uses 11m anymore we're gonna loose it to some communications companies, I'm surprised that they are letting us actually keep our CB legalised as we are now out of Europe because that was one of our arguments for getting it legalised as we was part of the European Union and CB was legal in Europe, so I'm not try to scare monger but beware the way things are going with us and Europe ATM, and we all know what our government is like if they can make money somewhere.

It's a shame you guys get little to no traffic, even local.
One would think that given folks are (supposed to be) sitting in home office it would be ideal to have the CB on next to you and jump in and out of a chat for a few minutes; a bit like someone walking by your desk or you going to the coffee machine/water cooler.
Maybe people don't actually work that much (at home vs. office) and do other stuff!? Or, they use WhatsApp and other e-channels (most likely scenario)? Given the number of requests for DX call-signs I wonder what they are all doing?
As I mentioned (I think?), here in Switzerland many CB operators are/were licensed (the requirement was only dropped 7 or 8 years ago) so to them it's simply another band to use. And they use it. Properly. With discipline.

The comments about people on here applying for call sign numbers is so true Ian , TBH I dont think half of them have radios or just dont use them if they have them ,or they ask loads of questions about radio stuff we give them answers and you dont hear from them again on here or on the radio it's a joke ,and it's true I cant understand it either why nobody is using there radios while there in a lockdown situation considering that most radio operators are in the so call dangerous age group for the virus, there is nearly 4000 members on here with new members joining every day and TBH I haven't heard one on the radio that are local to me TBH radio is becoming a waste of time people should get off the forum waffling and get on there radios and talk .

TBH I’d like to be able to go on the radio more often ,but I work long hours all week and only get on the radio for an hour or two at most over the weekend because at the end of the day family come first and We don’t all work from home I’m afraid.

Yep, that is totally understood and quite acceptable. Today there are lots of things to keep one busy.
But imagine if everyone took that one or two hours a week you do, or had a rig in the car and called out to/from work or wherever, then there would be many more QSO's.
John, maybe you are right there could be a danger of you losing the UK FM band. I doubt you'd lose the EU FM though even if not in the EU as it would cause a big frequency havoc...
Anyway, I'm waiting for the magic e-skip so I can chat with you guys from here!

I understand your point 100% family always comes first in anything with me ,but all I was saying is that there is alot of members that are retired or working at home ATM so how comes there not using there radios in there spare time even after family commitments ,it just seems there is what I call forum radio operators dont use the radio just the forum but they say they have all equipment lol, perhaps I've been around CB too long since mid 70s and I miss the old days of jam packed people on the radio, I dont know it maybe that ,
By the way I dont work from home because I was made jobless through this Corona and now being 62 nobody want to employ anyone of my age and I'm not quite old enough to retire so I'm in sodding limbo ,so I would like to go to work . @ Ian as for the UKFM that's down to the UK government to do what they want with that if they was going to ,the only thing they can do is make the EU bands illegal again because the EU are the same as the FCC in the U.S which we was using back in the old illegal AM days of CB and they was illegal then , and the only reason why we got them added to our CB bands was because we was part of the European Union so as that was one of the reasons we got CB legalised cos of EU we asked for the EU channels to be legalised for us too.

The Corona Virus has stopped radio time for me completely, Ian, as I am a mobile only station. I have not bothered with a home base set-up on cb as I have S9+ of noise and although the house is 339m asl, all the hills are another 100 plus, metres higher, so ground wave is less than 10 miles on a good day and I am the only cb operator in the town.
The only saving grace is that I would not be able to get to my dx location as we have had a lot of snow and ice. I also still go into work. I work in a chemical plant that manufactures, alcohol hand gel, viricidal and bactericidal products, so very busy at the moment.
