Like I said mate they always do, perhaps its because they are both very near to the Thames Estuary and perhaps it brings in the cold ,it strange that we in London dont get it as bad concerning the likes of Southend in Essex is only 30 mile away , the only reason I think is that London is in what they call the Thames Valley and perhaps we are protected being in a so called valley ,I dont actually know it's just a wild theory LOL
@Alan I did the same couldn't be bothered to out to a cold radio shack

Absolutely freezing here, today. It was -8c when I got in the car to go to work this morning. The front doors locks were frozen and would not unlock. I managed to get one of the rear doors open and climbed into the drivers seat from the back. Not easy with bucket seats, there was some very fruity language through out.

Same here its minus 7 outside, just had to take the spiderpole down from the garden, a small bit of moisture in each joint and it had frozen solid. Had to pour warm water on each joint in turn. Only heard one thing all night 26 DB 1967 calling in the mid band. Not sure where in the UK he was, only heard the one call then quiet on T5 and right through the mids.

Bloody ell John , I can remember when we have had cold winters in London a few years back standing there pouring hot water over car door locks to free them off pain in the ar5e ,
Seriously John my old dad when he was alive use to be a long distance lorry driver his run was London to the North of Scotland so I never use to see him that often when I was a kid but anyway , sometimes instead of going to school I used to go with him and I remember once we was in Scotland and it was so cold when came out of the lorry drivers digs where we slept the night at 4am in the morning the locks on his old Foden lorry where frozen solid me being a little kid had climb up and pee on the locks to try free them lol cos we couldn't get any hot water anywhere and he made me wash the door down once we got some hot water lol

That's what you call a 'wee bit nippy'!
Still remember the walk in cryo-freezer we had at a firm I worked for.... -40'C!! Despite gearing up, going from a 21'C lab to -40'C came as quite the shock!
Nothing on the CB frequencies today my way. Not even the elusive Hygain V peweet

Been quieter locally so far this week for me, but I've had to undertake some decorating so the radio's not been on as much. Just tuned in and had a quick 'hello' on EU 15USB with a guy maybe 10 km away. So there is life out here.
And it's cold too, but not Finnish cold! We're only down to -8C to -12C, and went for a walk this afternoon at -4C in the snow. Roads are all perfectly cleared!!!!

I don't know how you cope, Glenn? It was only -8c here again this morning. Far too cold for me.

-25 here today, but sun is shining, and this has been a very mild winter this year so far, no -30 to -40 degree temps... I stress, SO FAR!

I don't know how you cope with it, Jeff. I am fed up with the winter and although the temps have been below zero all week here, it has only got down to -9c and that was far too cold for me. Lol.

Ah, but it is not damp here... it is cold, but it is dry. So never feels as bad.

That is interesting, Jeff. There has been a lot of damp, it has been a nightmare trying to get the front door open and getting into the motor.
