Hey Sam, hope to hear you again mate for a good old rag chew will have the Beam pointing South/East over the holidays so you should hear me ok. Anyway, thank god it's the Easter holidays I've worked throughout this pandemic without a break as schools remained open to vulnerable students and supporting this remote learning from home has been a nightmare the teachers don't have a clue about Microsoft teams and Google Classroom....rant over.

Yes Tony the loonies are taking over again on radio , actually there's a couple in Chingford who are a pain one called Black Stone and another called Kyotee both always think there radios are perfect and everyone else is off Kyotee likes to boast that his £2000 radio is better than anyones £150 CB lol shame the idiot doesn't know how to use it properly and we have a another load in East London who just cause problems on the Muppets which doesn't bother me but they also come over to the T5 and cause trouble too ,TBH if anyone returning or a newbie coming to CB heard all this I wouldn't blame them for thinking what a waste of money ive spent, and you get others saying CB is on the comeback well they can't have heard the cr@p we hear or they live in different world, what with the interference and the idiots its a no wonder that people are giving up

hi nubster, your not alone. Over in my part of the country, we have an idiot who bullies people records their qso and replays them over and over again. I know of two people who have given up and turned off the radios. If he find out you have a ham licence, he uses your call sign on t5.he even gives out your home address. sad world at times. take care.

The thing is a some of this lot we have are also licensed Amateurs and people have reported them to Ofcom and RSGB and nothing gets done, one of them was even in his local newspaper pleading sympathy because the council wanted to take down his antennas but he pleaded the radio was his only means of pleasure being disabled and doesn't get out and it helps his mental health, his about as much disabled as a Olympic runner and as for his mental health has nothing to do with the weed he smokes all the time of course it isn't (saying that in sycastic voice) we have proof about it , all of them are like the school bullies who haven't grown up ,its a shame that people like this arnt dealt with how we did in the old illegal AM days in the 70s, but the thing is now there are too many real nutters about who wouldn't think twice about stabbing or even shooting people now especially down here in London so most just ignore it and put up with it or just give up ,perhaps if the RSGB spent more time tracing the arseholes who are giving Amateur radio a bad name instead of worrying about antenna radiation and how high the antenna is and all the other trivial cr@p they think is important perhaps something would be done ,I mean they could do something about the ones that are coming on CB frequencies causing trouble while using there converted Amateur radios which is illegal. Sorry to all if come across abruptly but we in our area in London and TBH surrounding areas have been getting this for years and it gets on our nerves also I'm not blaming all licensed Amateurs there is good and bad in all CB and Ham but these lot just happened to be licensed.

I've yet to comprehend what causes an individual to start abuse on the radio waves and you can speculate until you're blue in the face about it.
The only thing I have ever noticed in all my decades of radio use is that the b*ggers require an audience!
Whilst we participate in that 'audience' you'll always get abusers.
Don't bite back, don't publicly whinge about it, don't blame each other, (the old CB vs Ham nonsense), and don't give them professional tips!
Yeah, OfCom or the RSGB won't do anything about it.......
You can't track them down if they're mobile......
etc. etc. etc.......
It's a surefire solution to absolutely ignore them in every way possible.
But I don't hold out much hope........
....we only had to stay in for two weeks to make the 'pandemic' go away.
All we do is start making a rod for our own backs, damn foolish upright monkeys we are.
Harder Ham exams? Banning certain types of radio? (I'm sick of the Baofeng whinge) Bring back CB licensing? (Yeah, that one worked first time around didn't it?)
Anything else we can do to put off the other 99.99% of radio operators who aren't abusing the airwaves?
They'll always be someone who goes out of there way just simply to p*ss someone else off no matter what the activity is. But radio really does have the simplest solution.....just turn the damn thing off.

Thank god I have other bands i can enjoy, best thing is I can null out London and point elsewhere if i use 11m. Anyway 6m is fun at the moment and we have loads of Europe coming in. The fun part is the attenna for the magic band is very small.

Ha! Yeah, jumping bands can be a god send for those of us that can do it.
Bit harder to do on a CB and the abusers will only chase up and down the channels again to find you. They'll soon wear out their channel switch if you switch off at the first sign of abuse, (thinking you've moved). Becomes a boring game for them even if they think they have won by you disappearing.
Beams are handy too if they're out of your firing line.

Its easy to say just switch off but if that's what everyone does to get away or to ignore the idiots its pointless having a CB radio, its OK if you have other frequencies to use but some haven't and as I siad these idiots are 100% licensed Amateurs who have been causing this problem in my area for years not just this lockdown thing ,I will say again for the benefit of some im not trying to make it sound like CB v Ham its just basically radio idiots I'm complaining about these people are killing off the hobby TBH it seems more happening in buil up areas because if you go out in the sticks and tell people there they don't understand and think its not happening what they class as a idiots is someone keying up these guys in my area are actually threatening violence against other breakers who are not in there little clique. l have video proof of one threatening a mate of mine yesterday, but I don't want to post it due to i don't know legality of doing it plus the bad language on a family forum as such.
