The day before was much better conditions. Had some longer QSOs, one of which was on FM with 13TW666, long enough to exchange details for QSL confirmation. That caught me out as no one has asked me since coming back to CB. Still, conditions were so good he easily managed to give me his email and exchange was made.
QSL via email ... is that how it's done these days? There I was designing my card and preparing some self addressed return envelopes.
Do you send a printable QSL card via email or just exchange details of the contact?
I'm definitely the wrong person to ask as this was the first time I'd been asked for a QSL confirmation for 25 years I've heard a few people exchange emails over air recently for QSLing. For this one I pinched the CT front and back design, and filled out the info on it and included it in the email along with a couple of photos of my station. He replied with a couple of very professional looking photos of his station.
I would like to get some physical cards made up again, it was an aspect I very much enjoyed in the past. I haven't heard one person pass over PO Box or other mail addresses over the air yet, so I guess most of this is done over email. I need to look into this more.

Been hiking around Symonds Yet today so only just turned the radio on. Still S8 of electrical noise here. I hear a few 1 and 30 div stations just over the top of it but nothing else. Anyone heard any good openings today?

Late night frequency scan. I wasn't expecting to hear anything at all. Cool, clear skies and unusually noisy. I'm hearing music on 38 (27.385) chatter on 35 (27.355) Possible antenna tuning with dead carriers and noises switching back and forth from 1 (26.965) to 40 ( 27.405) and I'm sure I heard something on 27.555 it was all too low for contact but it was there.

Seeing quite a bit of traffic on the local Kiwi here above ch40 EU FM until 555. Sounds like Italy/Spain etc. Not so clear. Maybe some activity coming in? Beautiful and sunny here too, but at this time of year we get storms in the mountains after a hot day. Unplugged the coax yesterday evening as it threatened but didn't happen. Better safe than sorry!

Hungary and Poland were quite strong into here this morning. Didn't work any though, just listened in to a local who was working them whilst doing some housework. Seems to have gone a bit quiet now though.

Mids and pirates full of 13 and 19 div tonight all modes. Had a few brief contacts but the mids especially are mayhem and difficult to hold a long QSO because they are piling on top of each other. A few 19 divs on UK FM too, a lot quieter on there. A jolly good opening, if you can just find a clear channel

Unbelievable amount of skip this afternoon and this evening,I’m still chatting with people in Sweden as of 5 minutes ago.Even joined a 13 Division net on 26.835 this evening and had a great time talking to lovely people all over Germany.Thank you Bernard 13 D 88 in the main chair for letting me join in,Sorry for my terrible German and that beam of yours does the business.Great QSO’s and lasting longer then 3 minutes..lol Has anyone else heard a Catholic Mass on the Mids in the last few days? And what’s all that about ‘Hello Coca Cola’ crazy cousins from across the water.. Long may it last. CT4029

Somewhere out there, some Asian guy who's goes by the handle of Coca Cloa is wondering why so many people are calling out "Whisky" over the radio.

Another day of Non stop DXing and it’s still going on now.At times this evening it was hard keeping track of the QSO’s what with all the European stations piling up on top of each other. Division’s 13,21,27,1,14,15,16,30,35,and 329 were all spoken to throughout this afternoon and tonight. What’s the saying ‘Happy as a pig in s**t..’ I’ve certainly burnt the candle at both ends today as I’m making up for not being back on for a few days due to other commitments…lol My head aches the radio is red hot and where’s my cool beer.
Cheers all. CT 4029

I've been a bit busy off radio the last couple of days, so looks I missed a bit of e skip. Seems a bit quiet on there this evening, my way anyways. There's a few Italian stations coming through, I got back to just one who was on special activation and he gave me an progressive number of 087.. so at least there's one guy out there pulling in a lot of signals at the moment Heard one station from Serbia too, but he disappeared pretty quick.

Hi SangueG,There’s plenty of skip still about.I’m listening to loads of 1 division and had a quick chat with Barcelona all on the Mid block Fm. Even though I should be finishing these bathroom tiles..lol Have a listen it’s pretty hectic..

I just fish for fun, basic rod, no fancy stuff, even a good thin branch and a line and a hook, Pike Pirch is a good one here, we have many fresh water lakes here, so easy to just make a line up and see what comes along .

Finland is such a beautiful place compared to here I’m sorry to say,I have to leave London and get out into the Surrey or Kent countryside to catch nice fish.Sadly in London rivers or park lakes your more likely to catch a shopping trolley or road cone…lol Tom. CT4029

All sounded a bit hectic again tonight. I've not been tuned in much these past couple weeks due to work, but had a listen. Some crazy Scottish bloke, and the usual Brummies hitting up 'Deutschland'. Normally I don't get much luck with all the higher powered stations and me on 4W, so I switched to the UK band and could hear a bunch of local chat. I got a very quick QSO with a nice guy around B'ham (John, mobile) who could hear me well, but even though I could hear the woman on his side (Maxi?) she couldn't hear me.
I really love it when I get to chat to the UK from here. It easily makes up for a few weeks of either not being on the radio, or not getting a word in when it's busy. I might try this tactic of hopping to the UK FM band in the future as it's probably less crowded than the EU band?
