I had a cracking contact on muppets, I heard an English voice on 19 which is less common in Scotland but I have had many stations from down South coming in over the last few weeks, London and surrounding areas on the coast have been especially frequent.  I followed this chap down to 18 after he put a call out it was an Ex-Pat in Normandy on a wide-banded HF set and an Antron 99 that is so old it was held together by tape, the short skip held up and we were able to get a good chat for maybe twenty minutes or so just using FM, he didn't have a call sign organized so I mentioned the site if he was looking to acquire one for himself, telling him he would receive a warm welcome!

Good stuff, Alan.👍

Good propagation this afternoon seemed to have quietened down slightly now,But this see what the evening brings. Also heard the States on AM and they were strong S5-S7 at times,I made the usual CQ DX calls but to no reply. So just made do with great 1 Division stations in Northern Italy.Bergamo 812 miles and Milan 779 miles as the Crow flies,Sounding like their just down the road and on 10 Watts too.I do like the Mid block Am for the less Hello Hello Hello and whistles,You can actually have great uninterrupted QSO’s
Cheers Tom.

No, just the same this way. Haven't been about during the day so can't say about that. But this evening's dead, or at least nothing more that little flurries of signals that aren't intelligible to me 11m conditions - Page 37 1f611

Thanks SangueG,I was starting to get a bit concerned and it’s good to be able to get other CT’s info with what’s happening in their part of the UK/World on the bands.
Hopefully things will pick up a bit this evening or over the weekend,Otherwise I’ll have a wicked suntan for the Monday morning commute..😡
Thanks again Tom.

Let’s hope that the sporadic E is on its way because I’ll have the most expensive door stop ever otherwise.Praying to the frequency gods is a second thought too..😂

All charts I've seen show the bands around the 11m poor again. There's a few strong stations coming through from Italy and Poland at moment though with an AT contest going on. Just had a brief one back to a 1SD after I parroted his oolaas and whistles for a laugh.

Better half's b'day and British F1 Grand Prix today, plus new puppy in the house yesterday are probably going to take away radio time for much of day. Good luck to you if manage to catch some E skip today, will look forward to reading about any contacts later Smile

The Skip has been good today In London from about 9am this morning.Division’s 68,1,15,13 and 30 were all contacted with some up and down propagation but QSO’s were made.
I’d just like to take a moment to wish all our German and Belgium friends our deepest thoughts and our hearts go out to them with the terrible situation that their facing at the moment. The German stations I spoke to this morning we’re glad they were not effected as much because I was informed its the worst in the central parts.Mother nature at her worst.
Cheers Tom.

A Strong U.S. station from Ohio on T5 was heard by me around 6pm BST, on 22nd July 2021, 2 AT 259?, I'm not sure about the unit number, as I was on the vertical at the time and he was competing with a lot of Europe and UK still around S9 though.
I checked propquest and everything matches up also Superbowl channel mid channel 6 AM, 27.025 was coming through VERY strongly maybe worth keeping a look out today. though with the change in weather any enhancement from sporadic E could be a lot more unpredictable, worth a listen though. have fun folks.

I heard a unusual one last night too on 27.385 LSB CH38 MID and then on superbowl ch6, seemed to be a US sounding voice but coming out of London UK calling out on 38 ,But doing london uk got down on ch6 couldn't hear him when on delta loop, wondering if you heard him at all considering your location, conditions are lousy at the moment, just weak 1,14 & 30,31 coming through but could change later or not.

There is a London station who moved from the States to live here.I have spoken to him once or twice and for the life of me I can’t remember his callsign,I’ll make a note In the log next time I hear him.(sorry mind like a sieve)
