I did look at them but decided on the Yaesu 450d and glad i did. But then again i never tried the Xiegu so it will be interesting to see what others have to say about it.

Okay thanks Alan have the Icom IC746 here for regular HF and 2 mtr work but it caught my eye and having sold a few items lately and one comming up for sale decided to give one a try, love it, yes it’s tiny but must admit it works a treat and the waterfall and built in atu as well as swr sweep for me make it a keeper. They bring out FW updates for it every so often which really does improve any niggles. 6 Mars would have been a bonus on it but again so glad I gave one a try.

The more I see or read about the G90 the more I want one they look like a cracking little rig.

Thinking about one myself Paddy. What puts me off is there is no FM unless you buy the GSOC Controller @ 550 Euro's. Probably better to ask Nick Black Spirit if he could fit an FM board.
Paul.

Paul good news mate although I have not used it myself Fm mode was added in the very latest FW ! Tested on rx only and seemed all okay with the few stations I heard on uk40fm.

Certainly does Paul. It’s great to see a company who listens to there buyers and tries to keep improving the radio with requested updates. Loving mine ! Picked it up including the optional fan unit as well as the ct19 break out box for £290. Was only about 7 months old.

Just got mine yesterday , I was sceptical, as I only wanted it so I could Wideband it and use it 10/11m only. It is a Neat little unit, easy to remove one very small component, set it cup with a ML145 Magmount in the loft and my waterfall is full of wonderful callsigns, I was told the Receive was mind blowing and it is. There is FM but its NFM only, not listened to uk40 yet, but yes recommend it

Been thinking about getting one myself. Any suggestions of reputable UK suppliers (without posting links, don't want to contravene any forum rules) so don't get stung by import taxes? Radioddity I thought might still be an option as I read they go 50/50 on import tax which I think would make them under £360 including shipping.
Hi Neal, got mine from Sinotel , next day delivery, cheaper from China, but as you say Import duties etc: and a long wait for a new toy

Thank you Tony for the UK supplier suggestion. I am not in a rush at the moment as happy playing on just 10 & 11m with what I've got, but thinking about expanding my options later in the not too distant future. A UK supplier will also make it easier to return to or contact if needed though, so thanks again for the suggestion.
Alan, I have read that it does FM now if the optional GSOC controller is attached. Don't know if it can be enabled without, but the GSOC looks to be the same price as the radio so doubling the price. I'm not fussed on having FM though.

That's not a problem if you're wanting it for CB as CB is only supposed to be 2kHz deviation anyway with even those cranked up loud over-deviating only being about 3kHz.
