Hello!

I have some problem with my ft450d, some reports lately say that there is a background noise in my transmission but I have no idea what to do. Some have said on the air that it might be some problem with my power supply but after switching to a new supply the problem is still there... Somebody have an idea what the problem might be?

Can you listen to yourself on an SDR, and ideally record it so we can have a listen?  Or, get someone to record you?

Could be RF in the audio, could be mains hums, hard to tell without hearing it or getting a description.

Might it be RF "common mode"?
No idea what aerial you are using but try winding a choke/ugly balun at  the base of the aerial.
You could try another mike

My first 450d did have issues with noise coming over when i keyed and was quickly returned for another one which had no issues but i remember the supplier saying he had to send some back to Yaesu.

When my wife bought me a new 450d i made sure it had no issues with noise but i have heard some on air sounding bad when using cheap power microphones putting rf thru on tx.

Is it a early 450d? what mic do you use?

I bought it secondhand so i dont really know. But the bad reports have come lately. I bought a md100 desk mike but there seems not to be any difference between the original han mike and the md100.

I had the same with 450at and it was the led screen causing the issue due to a poor earth from the front panel to the radios chassis, I did a mod and cured it but I didn't think the ft450d had this problem, try ferrite clips on the mic cable

I had the very same problem on a 450d , as Paul says above run a small wire earth strap from front control panel to chassis , problem solved 👍

Craig

Ps Try dimming the front display and if this in turn reduces the noise then earthing the front panel  will defo cure the problem
