Hi all, i'm a newbie from just outside Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. I'm a retired Firefighter & live with my wife Tina, on the North Essex coast. I'm looking to get into CB radio after many years of SWL & the usual air/marine scanning. I'm looking to get a base station as i can't get about like i used to,(combination of old injuries & too much medication) any help over choice of equipment would be gratefully received. I would als o like to request a CT call sign please. I look forward to getting involved & hopefully chatting on air soon. All the best, Bob.

I am over in the west of Essex, if your thinking of taking your foundation course I know there are plenty of 2/70 users in your area, Your local 2m repeater in Clacton is always busy, I can rx it from here but cant tx on the handheld it just a bit too far.
