Hi guys. I had an advert up the other day selling some gear. It did sell. The guy sent me a msg on messenger saying he was in my town and could he pick it up. This guy bought these 3 items from me yesterday " for his girlfriend " now L@@k. Radio opened never used. It's 2 years old, blew a diode a year back and went to Nick for a repair. That's my security seals. Being sold from a silent key sale. What a f@ckin twat. Not bothered about him selling on as he's not making much but the lies on the adverts are pushing it a bit.

Hi Paul,
I often take everything a private seller states on eBay with a lorry load of salt! It does make it bad for honest sellers though.
Usually you don't see what follows once you've sold something on but unfortunately you have in this case. What can you do? I personally don't let such things get to me, you can develop a serious 'worm' that gnaws away at you otherwise.
Sorry you have experienced something like this first hand. The world isn't full of a***holes, it just feels like it sometimes.
You could pursue it to the ends of the earth or just let it go. The latter is good for your sanity.
All the best, Victor

Hi Victor / John. I wasn't bothered about him selling the gear on. He's only making about £20. It was the way the ad was worded. Radio opened, never used and from a silent key who's family asked him to sell on for them. Sent him a msg and he has re-worded the ads now.

I sold a spare FT-2900 to a chap a couple of weeks back via Facebook. Offered to post, but he drove an awful long way to collect a cheapish radio.
Got chatting when he was here, and turns out he drove over because he got screwed in his last transaction, when he bought what he thought was an iCom IC-410 (New model Aus 477MHz CB) and what turned up was an IC-400Pro, (Older model) and the guy tried to tell him they were one and the same.
I have both, so showed him the difference while he was here...poor sod. My conclusion is a lot of people are just shit.

I had a liner amp for sale (as parts mind you) but said it was tested working and it was. A guy asked me if i would test it on a specific band witch i did. Had to go out to the dark locked shack turn everything on and so on and tested it. I told him the results he put his offer in witch i accepted and that was the last i saw of him. Why get me to do all that then vanish without paying.
UPDATE Is the buyer a member ???. Just got paid. Before buying the emails where going back and forward every minute then nothing ???.

I've had that happen to me a couple times one time with a radio I sold someone ,the cheeky sod even used my original advert pictures and description but changed the wording slightly, that also was on ebay, and on Gumtree same type of thing with a car I sold but this time the person was really bull***ing in the about what he had done to the car ie: full service low mileage you know unusual stuff well obviously I knew it was a lie cos I gave him a bit of money off my price at the time selling cos it needed a service and the mileage was a bit high for its year ,so I put another ad up on Gumtree explaining what a lier the ad was ,the seller removed the ad and about week later they put up a new one but totally different.

Thanks guys but it's been resolved. I'm happier that the gear didn't come from a silent key ( ME ) and the radio wording has been changed from Opened but never used to just used.
Paul.
