Hello & good morning. I wish I was up in Yorkshire, then I could have been sleepless in Settle.
I am Nick & I am old enough to have been around radio since before CB. My login name comes from my early HGV driving days back in the late 70's. When I drove an old 6 legged Ford D series. The fleet number was C6, it being a Chinese 6 & I somehow became seasick, as a result.
Being a licenced ham, back in the CB days, I use to run a modified 10 meter radio, I forget the make or model, but it covered 26 to 30 mhz & was a VFO radio, not channelled. I also had a Yaesu ft-7 modded for 26 - 28 mhz in the truck for a while. And if I was down at my parents in North London at weekends, I occasionally managed an AM QSO on Medium Wave, under no particular name.
I have not played radio for years, other than listening to airband on my Uniden. My last involvement being Hospital Radio back in the late 80's or early 90's.
