That's a shame Alan.
It's about 110 mile round trip from my coastal retreat and over two hours.
So probably about £32/3 fuel with high prices now.
Also my dog gets stressed in the car nowadays so would have to wait until the mrs was down to leave the dog. So i doubt she'd be happy me buggering off for 3 hours to buy a radio 👍🤣

Good luck with the sale.
And I miss touring, used to stay on a little site by Holyhead hospital now and then and we like Anglesey.
Although I hated the queues for the bridge 😁

Not a problem.
I know what you say about fuel we went to Blackpool for a long weekend well this one just gone 300+ miles round trip could have had another night full board for what the diesel cost.
Going to look for a box that will fit the aerial in it's not big 60/70cm might be a bit over that but not a lot.
When i sort that out i will put it in the right section on here lol.

Nige
Posted it and a few hours later it was bought.
Tonyvic down in Brighton bought it..
Might jut list some of the many radios i have acquired on here.
Not sure if people trust buying and bank transfers but could just be my old head set in my ways.
If that makes sense to you.

Yes.
I was thinking when you mentioned boxing it, "ah, postage will be far cheaper than fuel". 👍🤣

Oh well, I should really concentrate on what I have for now .
Surprised it was removed from sales rather than just marked as sold 🤔 ?

Never gave it a thought i just deleted the advert.
Should have left it up and as you said marked it as sold.
Would have given others someone to contact about how the sale went when i was to sell again on here.
Live and learn might just put another advert up for a 897d i have.
Got a few radios i need to move on don't know why i buy them but i do lol.

Ah, didn't realise you could delete posts.

I suppose it just shows the thread is more active rather than looking stagnant if everything was removed 👍
I should of asked you if you were willing to post and costs 😉😁

Again, I should reign myself in for now 💰🤣

You might be able to help each other in the learning process with you both starting out with the same radio.
I didn't look at the book just had a quick play and a radio test on the 70cm band.
Too small for my one big fingered hand that works the other suffered nerve damage not that that matters you only need one hand normally lol.

Nige and Alan,
Can you slow down a bit with your posting, I'm having trouble keeping up with you both.

Alan, I need help finding the radio (didn't realise it would be microscopic) so won't be any help to Nige. My memory doesn't play tricks, most of the time it simply doesn't play. scratch Rolling Eyes

Last night was my first time on pmr with a GT-3TP handheld (loaned to me by John CT 4515) I sat in the garden and chatted to Ray CI 2290 and was blown away that  he heard me when I QSK'd into his network (about 22 miles). If the Space-u works anywhere near as good as the toy handheld I will be extremly Very Happy

Ok slowed down lol.
Tony i did have a play on PMR some time ago but nothing around where i live only sheep and they don't use it.
When DH asked me to sell it for him and handed me the box i thought he was giving me a mic or something.
Small never seen any that small in my 40+ years in radio.
My other m8 i had a chat on 70cm with couldn't believe how good it sounded when i showed it him in a video call unbelievable for the size is all i can say.
Now come on boy's fingers out and get them on air.

I don't yet know what it's like around our way, but mainly wanted it for the south coast pmr net so anything more would be a bonus.

When my friend can find time to put the antenna up, it will be all systems go for the extraction of my digit. Laughing

I'm considering going home base too.

But no rush 👍 I'm happy enough on the 9900 on FM at the moment.

Alan, I've had another local contact today and he may be able to help with my PMR swr.
👍
Watch this space. 😁

Hi Rob

How goes it with the Space U and the Sirio 446 antenna?

What do you think of it and the PMR band?

Hi All.

Was wondering where I can download the latest software/drivers for the CRT SpaceU.  Have tried the link https://simonthewizard.com/2018/11/16/modifications-crt-space-u-v/
but nothing happens when I click any of the tiny URL links.

Any help gratefully received.
