When I get set up with CB does anyone know how to get a callsign for this from this site? I've been looking through posts on the forum and people also seem to choose a nickname. Do you have to write it all down to be able to remember it as they seem quite long?
I was flabbergasted by the number of guys involved in radio but so few women. It must be like 99.9% male? Do you think this is just something women are not interested in at all? In WWII they were pretty good at radio, comms, and decoding. The best of the best. What happened since?
With the Amateur radio (ham) callsigns you get when you pass your foundation I understand you get a choice of the last three letters and alternatives if they aren't available? I'm assuming the same three letters will transfer over to the Intermediate and Full license once you pass those as well or am I wrong about that?
Is there anywhere I can look to see available callsigns for the UK amateur licenses? And what do I need to do to get a CB callsign on this forum when I eventually buy a CB radio and antenna?

Hello and welcome to the forum, John.
To get a Charlie Tango call-sign, all you need to do, is start a thread in the 'New Members' section of the forum and formally request a call. Then Gary (the admin who oversees call-signs) will issue you with one.
It may take up to 24 hours, but if you keep checking the thread you will eventually see your call.

How long have you been on or into radio. I use my old "handle" on here have you got one mine is 40+ years old. I still get called "Mr P" by some old friends.
You were asked by admin in charge of call signs (Gary) to ensure that you filled in your profile details and I also gave you instructions on how to do that. Once that is done you will receive a call sign.
All the best, Victor
PM also sent in assistance which can be checked by clicking the 'Inbox' button at the top of the website when you are logged in but will also shadow a copy to your registered email address for this site.
