To obtain a call sign there are a few details you need to provide as per the instructions on the forum.
If you can enter your first name, country and the QTH being the town or city you reside in or nearest to on your profile then call sign allocation will be able to commence. 

If you have any problems you can ask for help or simply post your details here on this posting.

Call signs are usually issued most days, (after your details are entered), so keep an eye on this posting for when you receive yours.

I've removed your duplicate request from another part of the forum to prevent confusion and ensure you get your call sign.

Hi Benjamin,

There are some basic requirements for call sign allocation helpfully addressed on the sites instructions and if any information is missing it is usually prompted for by the Charlie Tango voluntary administration.

The three pieces of information asked for are to help allocate a call sign unique to each member and performed in such a way that if they inadvertently 'forget' their call sign, (weirdly this does happen on many occasions), we can do our very best to retrieve it on your behalf. 

We only require a first name, QTH which is the town/city you reside in or near as well as your country, (we have members all over the world each country having a unique identifying number).

This is enough to issue a unique call sign to you for radio transmission use without the need to identify you any further.
(For example, we could have a Dave in London, England and this is enough information for a call sign without further identifying 'Dave'.)

Obviously this information can only be given by yourself and we do our very best to help you provide it for callsign allocation. (This has happened twice so far on your request by myself and Gary Wilson who ultimately issues call signs.)


Charlie Tango DX is a group run completely by volunteers, we are all radio enthusiasts doing our very best to help other enthusiasts pursue their radio interests. This ranges from this forum where people can ask for help, discuss radio subjects and keep in contact with each other, to offshoot resources such as the Charlie Tango DX Facebook group. 


Call signs are issued only if members require one, provided freely without a paid membership or subscription and hopefully helps further their radio pursuits such as DX'ing where their call sign number will be internationally recognised.


Again, this is all provided on a voluntary basis by fellow enthusiasts. There are no office buildings, no office hours and definitely no '24 hour' service or automated responses.



So, in my best effort to help you gain a callsign can we clarify some information please?

We know your first name so that's all good.

You have marked your country as 'Great Britain' and although this is actually four countries - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as far as call signs are concerned we happily deduce your country from the town or city name you provide in your QTH.

The QTH is where the problem exists, we simply need the town or city you reside in or near to provide a callsign.
I have performed an internet search on your latest information and can only deduce that your QTH is Nottingham......would this be correct?


If you can fill out that basic information into your 'profile' then call sign allocation will be a simple process. The next time an Admin team member responsible for call sign allocation is freely available they can issue you with no further delay.


I hope this helps you out Benjamin, we issue thousands of call signs usually without further problems or delays. Occasionally however we do face difficulties such as this but will still do our best providing our free time to help out where we can.
