I would like to apply for a call-sign. My name is John Stevenson I currently live in Newport S Wales and have done so for the past 40 years. I originate from Chesterfield and took the Radio Amateur Morse exam whilst still at School at 12 wpm. I wanted to take the next part but as I was under sixteen at the time the Tech college could not insure me to be on there premises. I joined the Royal Navy in 1973 as a Radio Operator (G) for 9 years. My interest with Communication continued off and on and since retirement my interest has been re-kindled. I also would like to take the exam as soon as I feel confident to do so. Meanwhile I am back on CB and have met some very nice people so far. Kind Regards John

Always good to read a great intro on the forum and a pleasure to hear about you and your radio history.
Call signs are issued most days so just keep an eye on this posting for when you are allocated yours.
The Amateur Radio exams are available online nowadays, (as well as through clubs), and there are loads of online training resources. One I can thoroughly recommend is 'Essex Ham' and I trained with them myself before taking my Foundation exam last year. (40 odd years after I first was going to do it! )
The helpful bunch here at Charlie Tango provided all the enthusiasm and help I needed to reignite my passion for radio. I hope it does the same for you.
All the best, Victor
