I wouldn't be surprised if i'm the Youngest person getting on to CB - 24...maybe i've watched to many movies, (end of the world types - where theres always a radio guy who saves the day) or the likes of Smokey and the bandit, Dukes of hazard and Convoy! Still looking into my first setup although do own an old Rotel RVC220 although I get the feeling it may be to far gone now! but worth trying I figure before buying a new one! Having a quick look around on the site...could we maybe have a place for beginners where theres lots of information? other than that happy to be here and even more happy to learn!
Hi Matt, firstly welcome to CT Land, we are a friendly bunch here, so any questions, ask away. I actually got in to CB at the tender age of 17 back in 1978 when we had to hide all our equipment and "Going's on"
but I bet there's others who were younger than me? 73 Tony

I am delighted to allocate you 26-CT-4230 may you have good luck with it.
There is a section of the forum covering most aspects of radio. For now if there is anything in particular you need to know just post in the relevant section and there will always be somebody to help. We'll give some thought to the "Beginners section" suggestion.
73's Gary.

Hi Matt,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Glad to see you've already got a call sign sorted and ready to dive head first into the radio interest.
Man after my own heart with movies that feature radios in them, most never really notice even though they could be a pivotal part of the movie! Also good to see someone younger taking the interest, it's not all "19-clickety-click" way back when CB or old men sitting on their Ham radio sets.
As mentioned there's plenty of helpful people here at Charlie Tango more than willing to offer assistance. Even the 'old hands' need help every now and then so don't be afraid to ask questions despite being new to it all.
Above all, enjoy yourself. Radio can be a lot of fun!
All the best, Victor

I was 11 when i got on to CB, early 1980, AM rig in brothers car, then by the end of the year had home base set up, loft twigs and MG boot lid for ground plane, fun days.
