Hear a lot of guys on the Pathfinders and Horizontal net on 3.760 each day using them. Then you hear them telling others " can't hear you on the radio but get you on the Websdr " To me, that's not a contact. Whether it's the radio or antenna issue i don't know. Personally for the new price of the 7300 i'd put an extra few sheckles in and buy an FTDX 10 which has a better RX.
Just my tuppence worth Alan.
Paul.

Thanks for the reply Paul. Might look at that one next time i get board and want a change lol. Has good and bad reviews like all radio's main one is the buttons to close together and i am clumsy lol. Might trade one of the twin's in soon so maybe ???????.

I had one for a while, and know several people who have them still. Fantastic radio, IMHO. I hear people say some Yaesu's have better RX, and if you look at the Sherwood tests, it might not score as high as some Yaesu's (Or other iComs at several times the price), but will you really tell the difference with your home noise floor and shack setup? I highly doubt it....
They are easy to use, feature packed, and (at least over here) cheap as hell for what you get.

Well it came a bit earlier just before 12 but we had to go out shopping (not right with a new toy to play with). Anyway it's plugged in but the bands are dead where i am plus it's on the vertical hf multiband not the cobweb but can't hear anything on the 991a on that. Will update when it picks up soon i hope.

Best value for money radio in the entry level market, best value in the used market. Basically best bang per buck. Excellent contest grade performance and very easy to learn to use.

have 1 for a few months now. after a lot of reading and watching youtube about the 7300, i deceided to buy one. now, after this few months, still find this radio the best buy for the bucks! knobs are good finished, no 1001 menu-options to dig in, very nice filters for all frequenties and modes, not to big, but rly not to small eighter. easy to work with, very nice audio and a very god modulation. worked a few stations in and out of europe now, and even with England, Scotland and ireland, on a Hi-endfed 10-80 and on my SD27-dipole (vertical on 5 meters) and they all find my voice and signal very good.
have fun with your new one!

Loving it so far. Got it side by side with a Yaesu ft-991a and i think the 7300 has the edge. I could do with 2 antenna switches so i can compare them on the same antenna as swapping them over is a pain and the way it's running by the time i have swapped the signal has altered or dropped out if you get what i am saying. There are a lot of tweaks with filters and that sort of setting to play around with more adjustment than the 991a. It run's cooler than the Yaesu i think but only running 10w output. Away for a week from later today but will make the decision on selling the other twin when i get back (twin = 2x ft991a's i have). No playing radio for a full week ...

Love mine, I think the receive is fine, filtering is unlike anything I’d had before (not much). Easy to use and lots of features. I agree with the chap regarding the FTDX10 if that had been out I’d have bought that but wouldn’t swap now. Glad you’ll like it Alan. I sold my 991A after I bought the 7300 but always missed it once it was gone.

Well I've had mine for just over a year and have never had an issue with it. I'm fairly new to HF radios and this being the best I've had and used. The scope is very eye catching and easy to use and the receive on it is excellent. I've recently had mine opened up which to my suprise was quite cheap and now lets me get on the 11 meter bands as well as a few others. I also have 2 other HF sets including a handheld and we all know what that is but if I'm honest I would go for the 7300 over the ft 991a just my personal choice does anyone agree ? Would I buy 1 again you sure bet I would .

Well still liking it and use it every day. The 991a get's turned on but it's normally on the 2m or 70cm bands (what a waist). I sold the other twin last week as it was just sitting in the box but still looking brand new. As to the wide-banding i did look at video's on this and looks very easy but not going to touch mine. The remaining twin was wide-banded when i got it but never used it in the 11m band as i have a Lincoln 2+ for there if i want to have a shout out.. Did look at the FTDX-10 but not sure but you never know lol.

My 7300 has done quite a bit now, had it just over a year. I bought it at the same time as the 9700, both are very nice radios.
Before that I had the 7100 which is also very good but I wanted to try the SDR ones.
I'm a mainly ICOM guy but have had many makes in the past, all have done what I want them to do.

Hi Nike,
I had the 9700 for about 10 months and hardly used it except for 2 meters. It was a waste for me so traded it in for a 705 with a lot of the accessories. I’m getting good use from that I must say.

Know what you mean, it's a lot of money to be sitting around doing nowt.
I had my 9700 running my QO-100 station which it did quite nicely but now it is back doing dx on 2m and 70cms most of the time. Had some bother initially with the drift but fixed with the ref in running with a Bodnar mini GPS clock.
I bought a 705 as well with the intention of doing some portable but not got round to it yet.
