30 years and then kaboom

Not my best QSO today, waited 30 years to stoke up the boiler and scream at someone,,,,, and there he was,,, northern Italy gave him a shout and he heard me, keyed up to go again and there was a loud gritty pop from the powder pack and it all went very quiet,,,,,,,,,,,,, think I said Oh never mind, or was it these things happen ,,,,, well nearlly but it ment the same ish.

Sorry to hear about ur mishap. Unfortunately these things happen
all too often with old rig's the electrolytes dry out. A rig doctor may
save it. Rig's have to be used regularly like cars etc. Why not save
ur money & get a modern 1 like my 891/450d. 73's Mike.

Lol it was a new set up,,, cheap chinese power pack, guess you get what you pay for,, the radio is ok it got all kinds of built in stuff, need a Phd in quantum physics to fly it but im getting there.
Sorry haven't a clue what a 891/450d is, right im off to find some new volts,

I ordered a 30 amp from Knights, should be here tues or wed, till then the wife has to walk to work lol ive nicked the battery out of her motor. In the meantime im hunting a Turner expander, missus said I don't need one ,,,, lol wonder what she means.
