I use a variety of couplers, I have a multitude of 49:1 and the odd 4:1, these match the impedance of the antenna to the feed line. I then use a tuner to make the PA finals completely happy. This last step is not truly required, but it stops any worry

I really do want to see how it works for you. I'll probably put up a low linearly loaded dipole sitting above my radial 'field' to enhance vertical take off.
Compromise is necessary. I used to have a 4 x 17 ele 144MHZ array with an 3CX800 amp and run moonbounce - then I moved and I've never been able to set anything like it up again. Vertical wires, halo's & moxons all fed by coax are doable here. It's not even worth trying eme or even VHF from here as I'm in a fairly steep sided river valley a matter of tens of feet above sea level - the river is tidal. I never see the moon at a decent declination.Â
I'll get something sorted other than a 1/4 wave vertical and we should be able to chat easily

Wayne I was surprised how much water got in a plastic bag i use in the same way. Looking good m8 all i managed today was the coax from the cobweb fed into the new shack. Might get the main pc over tomorrow and a radio will have to come with that lol.
