Subject: Frequency allocation? Wed Dec 29, 2021 10:22 am
Good morning everyone
Just returning to CB Radio after a 27 year gap.
The question I have is over what is legal to use here in the UK, the old 27/81 FM allocation and the CEPT allocation for both AM, FM and SSB? Is the EU allocation legal in the UK?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Nigel,
CB changed quite a bit over such a long period and it was hearing of the SSB allocation that actually tempted me back after a similar gap.
Basically FM still for the UK CB frequencies and FM/AM/SSB for the CEPT frequencies or what was known as the old 'mid-band' or US frequencies.
It's still illegal to use the old 'freeband' frequencies between them but never stopped anyone yet.
Hope that helps.
