Hi all! I was led here by Fred in the shed’s YouTube page!
Back in my yoof I was a real CB nut during the 70’s/80’s, both in the UK and when I served in Germany. I went by the utterly cheesy call sign of ‘Night Rider’, being much older and wiser )yeah right!) I can’t see that being resurrected.
Anyway......going to get back into CB and then possibly/maybe ham, so any help would be very gratefully and eagerly received.

Hi Ken,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Old Fred-in-the-Shed has a lot to answer for! Just kidding, great fellow who spreads CB joy and one of the more famous Charlie Tango members.
Good to hear about your early radio experiences, pretty sure most towns had a CB'er with the handle "Night Rider". (Plus the on-air arguments about who had it first! )
It's all call signs nowadays, (well, commonly), and you're in the right place to get one. Your profile is looking good but if you can amend your QTH to be the nearest town or city, (even village is fine), then you can be issued without delay. Call signs are usually issued most days so check back on this posting for when you are allocated.
Quite a few of us here returned to CB then went on to get a Ham licence, much easier to do nowadays with online courses and examinations. If you want any help or heads up in that direction there's plenty here who would willingly offer assistance.
Here's hoping you manage to grab some radio gear soon and put a CT call sign to good use by getting on air.
All the best, Victor

Hello Ken, welcome to the forum and back to the hobby.
You haven't requested a call sign so I haven't issued one just yet.
Let me know as and when you require one and I'll get you sorted out.
73's Gary.
