Subject: Solatcon A-99 conection Sun Jun 05, 2022 10:49 am
Just setting up my new shack after many years away. The female socket in the bottom of my brand new A-99 antenna measures 4.15mm it should be max 4mm So the male pin (PL259) in the plug just falls in the hole? No push fit contact. Has anyone else had this problem or now how to rectify? Cheerrs

I would suggest building up a blob of solder on the male centre pin of your PL-259, to bridge the connection, but there may be adjustment you can make to the female socket on the A-99 to narrow the hole, without breaking it.
Hence suggesting building up a blob of solder which could easily be removed later if you change the antenna.
Only part on a PL-259 that you solder is the centre-pin anyway, and I have to scrape mine a bit with a knife to allow a push fit in tight SO-239s, because I'm too generous with the solder normally as I like to make sure, ha.
