I was there.
No luck though mate.
Always fun trying though. 2m was alive again today on the old GB3PI repeater with contacts up and down the UK. Bugger all on SSB though!
Same time next week it is then my friend. We'll fall over with shock the day we get a contact.

Hi.
Only just discovered this thread. Here in Manchester there is a small 40m net that gets together on Sunday evening. Its called 8 at 8. Channel 8 (PMR) at 8pm. I've not been on 40m, or 11m for a while as I'm waiting for my son to install some new antenna's.
Apologies if I've repeated something that others may have covered.

Hi Lads,
I was all up for trying the 40m net again today, even going as far as modifying my new link-coupled ATU to get up to 40m from it's 160/80m design this morning.
(Works well, much lower noise. )
However the band has now gone rather noisy and long with a lot of Continental action coming through so I think not too great again for some short Inter-G. You never know though, Mother Nature is fickle!
As I've got some other stuff to get on with and am not the best for climbing the stairs I hope you don't mind if I skip this one. (Not that I've been successful so far anyway!). I do however wish all the very best for any contact you may make.

Shame conditions weren't great for you lads, (just took a shifty in the chatbox archives).
Sorry I wasn't about but pretty sure I'd have come up empty handed too.
Alan mate, (the other one - Alan Pilot ), can't seem to find a PM?

Just quickly signed on to give my advanced apologies for tomorrow, (and even the next day there Al).
We've got one set of the grandkids staying with us to give my daughter a deserved break with her husband so will be enjoying them over the bank holiday.
I hope that you all manage some good contact.
All the best, Victor

Sorry, will not be available again today too. This will most likely be the case for some weeks for Sunday mornings. Can give an answer on tomorrow bank holiday later today. Fingers crossed for those of you who give it a go today that you get some good conditions.

Well no contacts, me and Red Fox tried more or less every band but no luck. One contact into Spain on 10m was all I could manage. Am up for another try tomorrow, Monday 11am if anyone wants to try
