Yes, there was a period of good shortish skip around the time you posted this yesterday evening. Ireland and France were pretty strong into my QTH.
Wayne, the only CB nets I have been able to join in with have been when I've drove up the road few miles up on a bit of open spaced higher ground. At home I've heard occasional net participants like UK81 who don't live a million miles from me, but can't join in from here. Pretty much skywave only from my QTH.
If you're hearing euro around the 555 and 10m is seeming dead, it's worth putting a few calls out on 10. I have had results doing that sometimes. Did that last night when 10 was silent and had a German came straight back to me and we had a good chat. You can nab a couple of points quite easily in the 10m dxcc summer challenge with that method as you don't have to fight through others to be heard.
