Call sign application!!! Hi all how things have changed over the years CB making a comeback and ham Radio now much easier to gain a licence. 1 month ago I got my 10 year old yaesu out and started listening again and then proceeded to do the Mars mod on it to open it up to 11mts on A ling wire end fed making some good contacts in to Europe now I’m hooked just like it was 1979 all over again , now it’s time to use a call sign noticeable to other users and go legal on the ham bands with a foundation license later this year

Hi there and Welcome to Charlie Tango.
To make a call sign application we will need a few details in your profile, (accessed by clicking the 'Profile' button at the top of the site when logged in), to include your first name, country and QTH.
I'll also edit the posting title to include 'call sign request' for you to make sure it doesn't get missed.
Once that is done you can be allocated a call sign so just keep an eye on this posting for when our admin Gary comes along to issue you.
Glad to hear that you've been enjoying the airwaves on your radio and making some good 11m contacts. I hope that a Charlie Tango call sign assists you further with it all being instantly recognised with world wide membership and the forum should anyone require verification for QSL etc.
Best of luck also with your plans for Foundation. Many members here have progressed along the same path and thoroughly enjoying the regular Continental contacts that can be made and sometimes even around the world with just the starting 10 Watts. That's a lot of frequencies available at your disposal once licensed and will make full use of your Yeasu.
Should you need any more information and/or training I highly recommend Essex Ham after utilising them myself as well as many other members here at CT. Link below :-
They can also provide details should you have a busy life, work commitments or other reasons to not be able to attend a club in obtaining an online examination booking a time/date of your choosing.
I hope that all helps and don't forget those profile details.
All the best, Victor

Well done with updating your profile there Russell.
Just keep an eye out for Gary now but be aware that he is currently on a well deserved break so may not get to issue your call sign straight away.

Hi and welcome. Many of us are old timers returned after many years off radio. True what you say about the changes but radio is still radio it's just the kit and prices that changed.
