I heard you working the 108 div this afternoon, Al.
I was gonna come back to you both, but, the Yeasu cut out when I keyed the mic (voltage must have been low) and put me back on the previous frequency that I had TXd on. I couldn't remember which frequency you were on. Lol.
I heard Sacramento, California on 27.375 lsb. Although he was 5/9, I didn't manage to work him.
73s John.

And it's over and out from me, for now anyway, storm took the vertical out, rip sirio 827. If that's all that's damaged after that storm we got of very lucky compared to a lot around here, between 70mph wind and floods bad enough to make most roads by us close, cars been abandoned with water up to the doors

Hello Al,
That is bad news! stay safe, Buddy.
It was wet and windy here yesterday, but I think we got off lightly around here. I went up to the dx location yesterday and the wind was rocking the car around. The static was building to +30 as it turned from rain to sleet to hail and then snow. Unplugged the antenna, so as not to damage the radio.
Roll on Spring!
73s John.

Dang, Al, sorry to hear that. Sounds you've had it pretty bad there. Sirios are built pretty ruggedly as well, aren't they? Having the antenna wrecked is sure to be annoying for you, but antennas can be replaced if not repaired unlike us humans. Am very relieved you've weathered the storm yourself.
John, you're braver than I am. I ventured out to take the dog out a few times around the block for the shortest of walks. Other than that I stayed inside. I can only imagine what it must of been like out in the open or up on hill!
For you Al, and anyone who wants to join in with this 11m challenge, the good news for us all is that with DX conditions as good as they are right now, almost any bit of wire should be good enough to snag a contact or two, at least into Europe. If anyone is in tears because of lost antennas, as long as you yourselves are ok, get a simple bit of wire up, a 1/4 wave, dipole, or just something random, and put a few calls out... you'll almost certainly will make a contact and put smile back on your face.

Reluctant to use the word 'storm' after your antenna woes Al, but can't think of another word to describe... You're storming ahead at the moment with some awesome contacts. Well done!
