Well i am originally Lancashire born, moved down south 10 years ago for work and never moved back to Lancashire. Most of my family still live around Lancashire so regular trips Up norf are scheduled.
I was first introduced to CB radio in my 20's and was active in the CB community until AM was replaced with FM, i lost interest after that to be honest, that and the 2.4 children and wife put a stop to most of my hobbies, (apparently i had to many and needed to spend more time at home, sound familiar to anyone?) obviously resistance was futile!
So I didn't own or use a CB radio since the mid 80's, recently my brother took up the hobby and had a spare CB and antenna which he gave to me (Icom 1050)
I forgot how much i enjoyed using the radio and have got the bug again, gives me a chance to get out and about, i am mainly mobile as i have to get permission to erect an antenna on the house and they are not playing ball at the moment (the attic is looking like an option!) so find the highest point on the map. Had some good contacts recently from Europe. Anyway that's a quick glimpse into my life..... Hope you are all keeping well. SynopticGhost (George)

Hi George,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
I've completed your forum profile for you from information provided here to sure there are no problems with call sign allocation. (You can check by clicking the 'profile' button at the top of the site when logged in.)
Just keep an eye on this posting for when our admin Gary in charge of call signs comes along to allocate you.
Great introduction there and always good to hear a little bit about new members.
Sounds much like the radio history of a lot of members here at CT with a step in on early CB days and then rediscovering the joys of radio as life settles a bit. (My wife now accepts the various hobbies with the children grown up and enjoying grandchildren - she does say radio is the least messy!)
Also seems like you've been doing well with a mobile setup and enjoyed the summer skip we had into the Continent. Many members here do rather well with mobile setups and you can always drive up to a higher hill far more easily than trying to get a home base antenna on more scaffold poles.
I wish you all the very best with your radio activities and hope it brings you more fun as we ramp up the solar cycle hopefully giving us the skip activity we experienced back in the day.
All the best, Victor

Hello Victor and John Thank you both for you welcomes. To be honest I have been surprised how welcoming and helpful everyone I have contacted via the Radio community has been, it’s a welcome change to meet such a fantastic group of people, obviously there are still a few idiots out there but nothing like it used to be back in The days. I hope that I have the opportunity to copy some of the members of the Charlie Tango community. Stay safe out there. 73’s…..
