Hello everyone,
I am Luis, I live in Tucson, AZ USA, and I would like to apply for a CT call sign. A little bit about my radio hobby: Back to the hobby after a long pause (mid 90s). However I have remained active as SW listener using radio receivers like Tecsun. Early last year I purchased a couple of Baofeng VHF/UHF radios to listen to HAM radio operators in the area and I obtained a government issued GMRS license. This experience motivated me to update my SWL radio station, and I added a couple of Yaesu HF and HT radios (FT-891, FT-818ND, and VX-6) as well as a SDR radio. I registered as SWL and ordered QSL cards to issue Signal reports to HAM stations. I also monitor beacons on HF frequencies using different antennas to check for propagation. I have a relatively large backyard, so I am able to fit several antennas that I have built (EndFed, Delta Loops, Vertical, Dipoles, etc) I really enjoy making all kind of antennas. I recently purchased a couple of CB radios: a President McKinley and an Anytone AT-6666 for both mobile and base use. My plan is to get back to CB Dxing, so I have been learning about DX Radio clubs and the Charlie Tango club caught my attention the way it’s structured and for its forum and active members. Eventually down the road I am planning to return to HAM radio and obtain a license like the old days.
