Please may I have a 11m call sign. I was a keen radio enthusiast at school and wanted to be a ham but could not cope with morse. now at 79 and as cw is not needed I would like to try again. In the mean time I am using cb ssb. I had a brief period with cb in the 1980's when in worked for Wincanton Transport. Chris 6343

Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Never too old to achieve life's ambitions many of us here took our Foundation Amateur Radio examination in our later years or what I like to call "second-childhood".
(I don't have as many turns on the coil though but still a Grandfather 'new' Ham. )
I can allocate you a call sign next on the list for your CB use, or as it is free I could allocate you "6343"? Totally up to you and I don't mind sorting that out for you, let us know and I'll get that issued if you like.

Thanks Victor Just changed computers Yes I will stick with my 6343 if that's ok with you. Age has suddenly caught up with me although sometimes I think I am back to being 18. Hopefully a revived radio hobby will keep the little grey cells going I am close to the Herts Beds group and be able to contact, although I live a reception black spot in a valley 73 Chris

No worries at all there Chris and glad to be of help.
I must say that getting back into the radio hobby as well as expanding my own interests to include Amateur Radio has been a good boost for the old grey matter. I hope it is all just as enjoyable for yourself and wish you the very best with your Ham aspirations too.
I'm in a deep-dark-hole here as well in Bedford but those old radio waves still manage to find their way out across the world.
