Hi Ray thanks for the message I got earlier from LT 727 (Cheers Dave). The evening started well and I could here Nigel and yourself perfectly 5 and 7 at times,Then the lift started and with it the bleed over from USB and as you heard some inconsiderate stations keying up or whistling. The QSO with 104 CI 101 Roy in Corsica made the evening worth while. Thanks Ray CI 2290 and can’t wait for next weeks net. Cheers Tom. 26 CT 4029

Cheers Ray for another great Southern and south coast net and also KP 441 for relaying QSO’s when things got tough. A few tweaks have been made to my working conditions so hopefully I won’t be sitting on that side twiddling my fingers and straining my ears as much from now on. Sadly didn’t catch any of the meteor showers it clouded over in London. Can’t wait for the next net. Tom. CT 4029

Hello
Welcome to the report for the Southern & South coast net held on the 26th of August 2021.
Sub-titled
The embarrassment, the pain, the horror
I arrived at my normal spot on Ashdown Forest, set up the Moonraker 1/2 wave vertical on the 3 meter pole and proceed to hook up the radio.
Then as the sub-title suggest it went wrong. I put the red wire to negative and the black wire to positive!
A flash of light and a blown fuse , that's embarrassing I thought.
Out with a new fuse, recheck the wiring and I should be good to go. Another flash of light and another blown fuse, that's a pain I thought.
A quick phone call to say I'm not in the chair tonight and then started to pack up and go home
Once home, out came the screwdriver and the multimeter, then the horror, I had blown the reverse polarity diode!
Enough of my problems, on with the report
Thank you to Nigel EK720 and Steve KP441 who stepped in.
Here is a in complete list of stations that took part AH09--Tim--Andover--Hampshire C03E8--Isle of wight FB20--Jonno--Near Chicester--West Sussex WA82--Keith--Worcester--Worcestershire FI420--Dick--Near Cambridge--Cambridgeshire WG07--Albert--Hitchin--Hertfordshire IW66--Dave--Isle of Wight AMC388--Neil--Sutton Scotney--Hampshire AMC674--Kev--Dorking--Surrey KP441--Steve EK720--Nigel--Goodwood Hill--West Sussex

Hello all and welcome
Here is my review of the Southern Area and South Coast SSB net held on Thursday night 09/09/2021
My location was radio corner, Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. The set up was supposed to be the Anytone AT6666 and the Moonraker vertical half wave. Checking the VSWR on the Moonraker, it showed above 3, which is high as it is normally below 1.3. Checking the coax, I found that the plug on 1 end need some resoldering. So over to the back up, a Sirio 4000 on a mag mount. With the delay, Nigel (EK720), Steve (KP441) and others started the night off.

Hello & welcome
Here is my report for the Southern area and South Coast SSB net held on Thursday night 16th September 2021
My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest, East Sussex and the set up was the Anytone AT6666 and a Moonraker half wave vertical antenna. The weather was breezey, mist covering the South Downs in the distance and a bright moon shining in the sky.

At the end of the night, the mist or low cloud (what ever you call it) had engulfed Radio Corner, blocking the light from the moom and making the first part of driving home was interesting.

Hello all & welcome
Here is my quick review of the Southern & South Coast SSB net, held on the 30th of September 2012
My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. Set for the night was the Anytone AT6666 and the Sirio 4000. The weather was wet and windy.
Here is my (short) list of stations that called in and was heard or worked by the net. All stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated.
AMC 519--Ray--Purbeck Hills--Dorset AH 09--Tim--East of Andover--Hampshire EK 720--Nigel--Devils Dyke--West Sussex KP 441--Steve--Henfield--West Sussex OM 001--Graham--Burgess Hill--West Sussex FB 20--Jonno--Bignor Hill--West Sussex FB 228--Martin H--Hellingly--East Sussex CT 4169--Martin--Hastings--East Sussex ??????--Chris--Swindon--Wiltshire CT 2767--Matt--Swindon--Wiltshire GB 23--Paul--Croydon--South London And me CI2290--Ray--Ashdown Forest--East Sussex
And then it all went wrong! I started to receive reports of warbling on my modulation and my roger beep sounding strange.
Checking the battery, it showed that it had dropped to under 11 volts. That's fine, just a simple job of grabbing the jump leads, starting my van and putting some charge back into the battery powering the radio.
NO JUMP LEADS!
So the net was handed over to Nigel (EK 720) and Jonno (FB 20) who continued to chair in my absence.
Thank you all who called in Sorry if you have been missed off the list Feel free to comment, like or dislike

PS If your calling out to a net, help the people in the chair by giving your name or the last part of your callsign. IE "Bill on the side" or " 151 calling QSK" This way you will stand out above the QSK's, on sides and break break.

PS I have something to ask our No 1 fan, the keyer and music player. Do you do requests? We on the net would like to hear any music from the 60's to the 80's, Motown, Country & Western, Queen, Meatloaf, Ska, Ozzy, Snow patrol and any CB related music. But before you start playing music again. Can you check if your mono radio has a damaged cone or get your CB sent away for a tune and service as it sounds terrible. Cheers Your uninterested and unimpressed audience

Well done with your net Ray, especially with the Chinook noises(!)
Laughing hard at your music 'requests'. (Sometimes they 'upgrade'.....we have a nearby numpty that can fire into the local 2m & 70cm repeaters.....obviously has a very sore penis to have nothing else better to play with!)
All the very best to you and all the operators that enjoy the net activities, Victor

Hi victor
This is the video I took of the Chinooks flying round.
It would have been more exciting if it had been in the day time to be honest! LOL
All the best

Welcome 1 & all
Here is my report for the Southern Area and South Coast net held on the 04th of November 2021 My location as always, was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest, East Sussex my set was the Anytone AT-6666 and the Moonraker vertical 1/2 wave on a 3 meter pole.
The weather was cold and clear and got colder as the night went on. When I packed up it was below 3 degrees
When I arrived, Mr 187 was there working 2 meters but not having much luck. We did have a chat, a coffee and also checked my Moonraker on his Nano thingamebob, which produced some interesting results. The Nano thing showed the antenna had a SWR of 1.3 but the Anytone showed 2.4
On with my report. The conditions seemed very flat with some normal contacts being difficult Here is the list of stations that called in. All stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated

PS Our No 1 fanboy disappoint a number of people on Thursday night. He showed up late, didn't play anything we liked, still has bad audio and then left early.

Here is my report/review for the Southern Area and South Coast net, held on the 11th of November 2021. My location for new readers was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest, East Sussex JObb01 The set up was a Anytone AT6666 and a Moonraker 1/2 wave vertical antenna.
The weather was mild for the time of year, some cloud but did see the half moon and the temperature stayed around 10 degree's C from start to finish.
The conditions seem very erratic with stations going from no signal to 3 or 4 bars on the meter and quiet to loud audio.
Now for the list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net. All stations are 26 division unless stated otherwise.
