Hi John,
Ha! Ha! We could keep these jokes going on for the "full cycle" until we're "cleaned" out couldn't we?
As regards the radio side of things it seems that we have to develop a thicker skin (when we really shouldn't), should enjoy our pursuits as we deem fit and more importantly that we relish what we do.
On another note after hearing about Dave-teapot's situation we should take a moment for those that due to circumstances can't enjoy radio as much as they'd like to regardless of propagation conditions.
It's been an interesting post as well as enjoyable and I thank everyone for their involvement.
My very best to you all, Victor

A thicker skin, or just let it wash over you Victor knowing that a large majority of operators are nice people and are laughing at them with you. I've just got to post this vid clip as an example of a well known lid that the world laughs at, the 2E0 handled him well IMO...
Hope life eases for you Dave-teapot, that your mother recovers well, and you find a few minutes for yourself.
Radio time for me has been a bit sparse of late. Love 10 & 11m, but it's often not working for me when I get those free minutes. 20m never seems to fail though whatever despite poor prop, I am so pleased that CT members encouraged me to get my ticket so I have access to other bands to communicate even if there's the occasional kn*b encountered like in the above vid.

Wow! That is extreme isn't it Neal?!
You're right though, most of the people I've "met" through the radio interest have been absolutely fantastically friendly as well as helpful and a joy to experience. I couldn't have mustered all this in the usual manner due to my housebound existence.
Like you I have been so pleased to be involved with CT and all it's members and similarly what encouraged me to get my ticket to enjoy all those other frequencies.
I suppose it doesn't help that countries like the USA still have restrictions and the UK (as well as others) historically so and there must be those that feel 'cheated' in some way. Especially when you hear the 19-clickety-click stories of walking barefoot in the snow uphill both ways for an exam or reporting to the 'harbour master' for a Morse ticket.
Luckily 'change' is keeping the hobby alive and well, however we enjoy it.

Hello Neal,
That was extremely rude and very ignorant. I thought the UK op was remarkably restrained. Mind you, the other op sounded like a top-end halfwit, so it is probably to be expected. Lol.
73s John.

I have not been on the radio for quite a while and don't miss it really. It is always there for you when you want it. The sun has been throwing out a lot of the wrong stuff.
I always found my best contacts are generally 2 years after the peak or even further.
Georgia ? Not even DX as far as USA is concerned .Unless they are coming in from at least Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada or Idaho my heart sinks. Oh just another umpteenth station from the east USA.
