Hoiya All
Got a homebase set up using a CRT 6900v coupled to a 1/2 wave silver rod which replaced a 5/8 wave hi-gain with groundplanes, the 1/2 wave going up yesterday with the pole being raised by adding another ( 3 x 1.5 metre poles in total) and some ferrite rings onto the coax. SWR is bang on 1.0 & getting about 6 pound of noise.
Then was asked about solar panels....I have about 15 going to an inverter & 2 x 9KwH batteries, could this be the source of the problem? I did move the ferrite rings onto some of the cables to no avail. Is it worth getting an expert in to check the system over?
Your thoughts & advice is welcome & appreciated.
TIA
Poikey

With my half wave dipole on 10m the noise floor can be anywhere between 1 and 4 S points. At the moment it's 3.5, so quite high. I assume this will be similar at 11m.
First thing I'd try is turn off your solar controller and inverter. If that doesn't make a difference, and you think the interference is somewhere in your property, turn off one by one any items in your house that might emit spurious emmissions, including your router.
If that fails to lessen the noise, insert a choke in the coax close to the radio, half a dozen turns of the coax on a 4 inch former should do it, or a 1 to 1 transformer.

EDIT: You might also try earthing the rig.

I have solar panels and thankfully they cause me no noise at all even with antennas in the attic.. I have a box in the attic that controls them and I can turn them off but I have never needed to, See if you can switch yours off and see what happens.

Thankya ta.
So far have tried turning solar array & router off to no avail. Will try earthing the rig next then possibly moving the antenna away to my garden.
Thanks again.

Solar is infamous for causing RFI, but then so are battery chargers, plug-in USB chargers, etc or anything else with a SMPSU in it.
When I got mine, I had to go through several companies until I found one that could understand and then answer the question about whether their inverters were RF quiet.
However, with solar, an easy check is whether the noise is there at night when the inverters will have been "switched off" due to no panel voltage.
As you've done that, next thing is to run the radio on 12v, and turn each breaker off at the consumer unit one at a time until the house power is completely off, and see which, if any, make a difference to the noise. (Don't turn them all off, then back on one at a time, as sometimes things need to warm up before they create noise).
If none, do, it's outside and it's off to play detective with a directional antenna and AM radio. I wish you luck.

If it is your solar setup it will more than likely be the inverter/charger. Ferrites on the leads don't work, ferrites on my mppt did not work. Could try and RF bypass the output leads with a couple of capacitors.

We have solar panels but i am lucky in that m station is in the garden so away from house noise. Cold this time of year but i have my heating a nice 24 at the moment. This setup is a 12v diesel heater running off 2x12v leisure batteries costs around 50p a day wish the house cost that lol. My only problem was with the smart charger tried 6 or 7 before i found one that had no noise and that turned out to be a relatively cheap one "Maypole" bradded thank god for Amazon prime. I hope you find the cause of your noise problem soon and it turns out to be an easy fix in your house and not a neighbors. A m8 has this problem he thinks next door have a grow in the loft ???? ..
