Hunting activations is a great way to enjoy our hobby.
I registered with POTA this year, and since the end of our CT 10m challenge I've spent many a happy hour in the shack hunting activations.
When activators log your contact, it appears on your POTA page as confirmation.

With the recent conditions, many activations in the US can be heard.
Find current activations here https://pota.app/#/activations (you can filter results if you are logged in)

Thank you for highlighting here Deb.
I have been aware of for quite a while. Not just because it has become a popular aspect of ham radio operating, but because the POTA admin for England is a member of our local club, April M7APR.
Re that, I feel I should of got involved earlier than I did, but only fairly recently signed up when I came across Tony M7DVQ's hunting efforts on allradio.co.uk . I have a few certs now, but his hunting achievements have left me standing lol.

Not too fussed about chasing this wallpaper, but if I do hear people calling CQ POTA I have been giving them a go as whilst not are all running QRP for sure, their portable stations are often lower powered than many base setups and not are not running with towered beams. It gives me a good feeling making small low powered station to small low powered station contacts.

Neal, the only reason I 'left you standing' is because I am a sad old geezer who spends a lot more time on the radio & PC than yourself.
I agree it's more satisfying making contact with low power, I have made a number on 10W although generally I run 25W. Just today I hunted a park in Norway, I was on 20W & LA7TN/P was ruinning 15W with 5/9 report both ways.
I spent far too long on FT8 etc. but glad I picked up the mic to hunt, with thanks to Toby M3TJT who kept on at me to 'have a go'

ps. I must also thank Razz229 for letting me know you posted in this thread, I'm ashamed to say I have been neglecting forums for a while so needed the push.

Yep, POTA (and SOTA or WWFF) are great fun, and activating is even better than hunting, not that I get too much time for the former.
Was also the reason I learnt Morse so I could do CW and up my contacts....especially living over here and wanting to get the US hunters/activators.
