Well Bert tried 2 weeks ago and failed. Darragh took the win. 104mph my weather station recorded but the tie-wraps holding my 10m mast to the fence post finally gave out holding the Endfed up and now resting. The Cobweb is still standing but looking more like a mop lol. Both are easy fixes when the wind drops as we still have some strong gusts. Station commander did have a lean-to for some gardening tools but i can't photograph that as it's all over the garden.

Poor cobweb My Gainmaster took a hammering in a storm last year, Cant remember which one but it cracked the fibreglass half way up so I repaired it but I was ready for this one and took no chances so it's lying on my garden path until the wind stops. Trouble is it's been down since friday and im really missing the radio. Damn British weather

Hello Alan,
It looks like you took a pounding! Al has said that his Sirio 827 is finished. It was wet and wild here yesterday, but not that bad. The wind was rocking the car about, up at the dx location. Lots of static as it turned from rain through to sleet, hail and then snow.
I will give my brother a ring tomorrow. He lives in South Wales in Miskin. Hopefully he will be okay. He used to live in Pontypridd, which got hit hard in the last storm.
73s John.

Hope the gnome is ok.
Not to bad here, strongest gusts around breakfast time yesterday. Mainly northwest but we never seem to see the strongest winds from the north or northwest.
I did take the precaution of lowering the 30foot mast as it was forecast storm 10 for a period over the weekend but it was not that bad really.
All other ants ok not moving that much over the weekend.

The cobweb looks like it will be a nightmare to retune. Hope you get sorted soon.
The diet... blimey! You won't need to hold back on the Christmas dinner trimmings this year.
Hope you yourself are ok after the storm and hope every other CT member is ok too.

Glad you and Linda are OK mate especially seeing the battering Wales took on the news. Antennas can always be fixed or replaced.
My washing line antenna hardly flinched.
Your 'diet' looks like the one my Doctors keep suggesting to me!
Hope everyone else fared alright.

Thanks folks for the replies. Cobweb should be ok it's the string's that have gone but i do have a plan B. B= i made my own cobweb in the summer spent a week tuning it and then marking everything with a paint pen before taking it down. Wind sounds like it has finally stopped this morning so the clean up can start. This is not that far from us. https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/pier-boss-hails-unbelievable-worldwide-30538950

Mast back up had a slight bend but sorted that by dropping one section by 30cm. Tuner end looked a bit ???? so re-did it with a new eyelet fresh connection and back up and running 100% on that one. Cobweb well Rome wasn't built in a day lol.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Alan! Winds were crazy strong here too as you can imagine. By miracle the Sirio 2008 has held and is intact and still hooked to my chimney. I was afraid for both as I recorded wind gusts up to 90 mph! If it would have been fiber, it would have snapped, I’m sure of it. And since I have no way of lowering my vertical, I could only look up and pray. Problem is those storms seem to become more frequent and grow in intensity…
