Hello all.
Well, somewhere around 15 years old I started getting an interest in radio. Bought the little Maycom AR108 and found chatter on 145 mhz, on what turned out to be the North London repeater, (a conversation between two guys as to what a crayfish was. A 'freshwater lobster' I wanted to say, however of course I could not.......) Later I stumbled upon a Morse class, GB2CW ran by a chap called Harold G0NFJ. I got up to 5 wpm. Not bad!
The timing was no good though, I had no money to spare at that age. Now at 35 I decided to take another look. Was going to go take my foundation (still may do), however with 11m CB being given a lot more freedom (12W SSB etc) I think I may give this a go. Fancy the new expanded McKinley.
Anyone near Epping Forest?
May I ask for a CT call sign, please? Would be great to join in with you all .
