Thinking about getting a HF Reciever, Does the Long Wire have to be a Set Length? My Shack is the front of the House, can I put the Long Wire on the Roof just draped on the front n back of the Roof Tiles, or does it have to be Horizintal? Thanks

Your question has many answers. Do u have a licence? R U only going to RX on HF. If only Rx then u can just use a polyweave Ant. draped over the roof so long as it's insulated from the roof. Any length will do over 10mtrs. Are u going for ur ticket in the future? If so why not get a small transceiver like a Yeasu 450d or FT 891 like I have. I quite often listen on 40/80 atm as they're the only Bands open for 12/18 mths. If u have a endfed horizontal it'll be directional to opposite end of feed point. Hope this helps you with decision.
