affraid Not pleased, after taking down the imax 2000 which isn't too old for vanishing etc. The bottom section no longers screws to the 2nd section. Talk about poor quality how can this work loose it now just slides in than out now, and yes i did unscrew carefully when i took it down.
To buy new imax is £165 for the whole thing.
A replacement bottom part i found is £95 from knights, sod that... I like the imax 2000 as its broadbanded but after a year's use it's shocking.
Anyone here have the same problem ? How did you fix it, i was going to glue together but that might not work as the glue needs to be conductive.
I did try ptfe tape half way on the thread but the thing still looks loose any help and comments
thanks.

Hi Tony that's proper annoying and i am surprised the thread is loose after such a short time,id be tempted to loctite thread cord or loctite liquid the threads together then self tap a screw into both metal sections joining with insulated wire and cover the lot in self amalgamating tape.

Do the thread as tight as you can then drill a 5mm hole through the join so that it passes through both the threaded part and the part it is meant to screw into. Then either use a long M5 bolt to go right through and a nyloc nut on the back or use a section of studding and two nuts.

bounce Thanks, guys just came back from B&Q as i didn't have a long M5 bolt long enough. Then I found one in the Shed after my Mrs had been in there, just typical. Going to have to hide my key from her now.

It's Very tricky to drill a 5mm as the thread isn't very long, so will drill after the glue has cured.

will use the Loctite liquid for the threads half way and solder a wire across. hopefully this will work
