can anyone help me my 706mk1 will not transmit on am , all it dose is key up them dekey all the time dose anyone know why it works fine on all the other modes.

Hi Dave,

No transmit on AM only isn't amongst the list of typical or common faults on this radio.

I have heard of unusual issues being 'fixed' by taking the remote head or front fascia off, cleaning the contacts and placing it back on. Might be worth a bash as otherwise you're going to be sending it off for a repair/service.

thanks victor ill give that go after all I've got nothing to loose and it might work, my friend has just given me a fully working ft840 and its much better than the one I had before there is no problems with it, I'm over the noon with it.
