Hi, I'm 31-CT-014 hailing from Lisbon. Has anyone got to contact someone from Portugal via dx?
My rig is a president Lincoln. Antenna is a dipole.
What are the channels and frequencies used? The channels in Portugal differ somewhat
Thanks

Hi Jorge, Merry Christmas, I would suggest 27.555 usb (International calling frequency) would be a good place to start. Over the years have worked many stations in Portugal when the propagation is peaking. 73s Steve.

I often hear and speak to 31HMS, Humberto - he's on the Algarve coast - one of the most regular operators.

Also Mr Miguel active from 31 Div, (Miguel 31-TM-001 Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal)
Keep listening T5, once conditions open a little more to EU, 31 Div to most of Europe is possible.
A small beam pointing SW should get you into 3 Div without any issues.
Is your dipole vertical or horizontal mounted???

Horizontal really good for the long distance DX,
but if its Europe & the UK try a vertical antenna for best results,

"Belkadog"
Any luck with contacts into the Uk?
I have had some recent contacts into Portugal so its quite possible even with these poor conditions.

Hi
I had a contact with Portugal a 31 station in Oporto but I lost contact after the first over... I managed to hear a report of 5/5 and good audio but was unable to hear any other information. This was a shame as it was my first ever contact on CB... So to answer your question...yes it is possible to contact Portugal... Moments before my contact... a UK station run by Harry... was successful with a contact in Lisbon...
A very exciting time for me personally. All the best

There was a bit of propagation yesterday late afternoon into the early evening. A lot of QSB so your experience is understandable.
The E-Skip season is upon us so keep trying it will get better in the coming weeks.

You're more than welcome.
Yes there are many UK DX stations. When the E-skip season is underway you'll see them all come out to play!!
