Hello folks,
Some people probably are going to say that this is an oxymoron but I'm looking for recommendations for a mobile, magnet mount CB antenna suited for DX.
I have no choice really. No way I could put a base antenna on the roof where I live so I have to operate mobile, and digging holes into the roof of my car isn't something I'm looking forward to. Neither would I probably do this properly, I'm not good at this kind of thing
I have my eyes on the K40. It's not the cheapest but I've read good things about it. There's also the PNI ML160 which I could get from Amazon here in France.
Any suggestions please?

Hello Alain and welcome to Charlie Tango.
I to, can only go mobile for DXing, the nets and local chit chat.
My 3 antennas of choice are. . .
1) Sirio 4000 and mag mount.
2) A Solarcon A-99, a 2m pole and a drive on base
3) T2LT wire antenna and a fibreglass (NOT CARBON FIBRE) pole (like a fishing pole, DX commander pole or a festival type flagpole) strapped to a nearby fence post
I have had DX contacts using all 3 and at various power levels from 4 to 30 watts.
Hope that helps
All the best & 73

Longest mobile antenna you can get. Ideally a 102" whip but failing that I'd get a Sirio 5000. The K40 has known issues with water ingress in the base.
