Hi all,
having never used a power mic i,m after some advice.
After a good few months the KPO 532 is back in stock again in various outlets.
I am wondering how much pre-amp volume you need for good clean modulation.....a STARTING POINT.

It all depends on your voice and how the mic gain is set on the radio because all radio and power work different with each other ,best thing to do is get someone near you on another radio and just try different settings until it sounds ok, there is no real way of saying start here the mic will sound perfect.

I am using the Mckinley and as you probably know the stock mic does not do wonders for the modulation on FM or SSB and I have mic gain on full at the moment.

You will need to back off the mic gain to at least halfway for a start to use the power mic ,plus dont forget to change the mic settings from electrec to dynamic so you can use the power mic .

Alan for the price they are very good especially when used on the newer modern CBs but make sure you definitely get the the Kpo version and not the Maas version that looks exactly the same.

Stephen can you pick up the little net on 27:305 usb at 4pm everyday from your QTH ,I know theres is a lot of Luton and Stevenage stations get on there they may be able to help set it up with you also sometimes setting mod on SSB can be a pain so it might be a good idea to see if you can get any of them because there net stretches out to Hertfordshire and out skirts of London.
