hi Dave, these radios look really good.2 questions. 1.did the dealer do the mod 2.is the warranty still valid please keep us informed who you get on with it, mainly on 11 meters. i am an M7 but still prefer the 11m freeband regards mark 26ct3433 M7RKS

Yes to Martin Lynch and the mod. Warranty as has had the mod warranty at there discretion so yes if I don’t over do the power that was there words of advice Do not use at full power on 11 meters ? I don’t anyway I use 12 watts into a Linear with my ft450D . All the reports have been brilliant . Regards Dave.

tnx Dave I also have the ft450d and run this at80% the mod was done by lamco and they gave a 1 year warranty.not having to much luck on 20 meters with 10 watts lol,hope 11m opens up 73s mark

sorry dave forgot to ask if you traded in your 450d or kept it,itsa just they say will give good prices on trade ins and looking at a few radios at the moment 73s mark

Looks a nice bit of kit. I went from the ft-450d to the ft-991a and love it. My station commander would also kill me if i spent that amount. But thinking about it i would get some peace for a week or so as she wouldn't speak to me lol. I say if you have it and it's what you want then go for it and enjoy your radio.(as long as the bill's are paid and food in the cupboard that is)....my moto.
