Hello . Made a few posts on the forum and received some useful tips and info from members already .thank you . Just got a s6900 and half wave silver rod venom which I'm about to connect up today hopefully. I had a CB for a while, back in the early 80s before it went out of style, but interest in radio receivers continued through the 90s with various scanners and shortwave radios for which i had a go at building crude dipoles and long wires, baluns etc from stuff that was laying about . Listening to hf and side band and discovering the way it is affected by conditions I've hopefully learned the patience to have a go at making use of SSB and transmitting again and hopefully trying for the foundation level radio licence in the near future to open up more of the airwaves. Richard.

Thanks Tony. Been watching a couple of videos online related to the foundation course and looked at a couple of the mock "quizes" to get a flavour of it . Do you email the call sign or PM ? Rich'

Thanks very much Gary . Just got the gear set up today , and managed a very brief contact with a station in Belgium , so at least I know the radio works !
