Introduction & CT Call sign Request (Issued)

Hello everyone, I'm Alan, I have no HAM or CB experience ( not yet!) , although I have just completed the foundation license training from Essex Ham, which is very good indeed. My exam is later this month!
As a newbie, I would like to get into CB and PMR radio, although the digital modes are also of interest. I got into radio when trying to decode 433mhz doorbells etc using an rtl-sdr, and ESP32 micro controller, I enjoy digital and analogue electronics - guitar valve amplifiers and op-amp based pre-amps, IOT with ESP32,ESP8266, Arduino, PCB design and recently 3D design using TinkerCad. for PCB manufacture and 3D printing I use JLCPCB, its good and cheap.
I also have an interest in music, guitar playing and vocals, plus golf.
I like to make and fix stuff really, I'm retired now but I had a career as an IT consultant/engineer, Voip/Lync and Skype for Business as well as infrastructure servers,exchange etc. OK many thanks.

Great introduction there and sounds like you keep busy with all things technical, very sure that the radio interest will herald as much enthusiasm for you too. Essex Ham do run a very good course to put you on track and I wish you the very best of luck with your exam.
