| hello , finally joined up this group of radio enthusiasts Due to early retirement I have had the opportunity to have time to revive interest in radio .
I am based in Fife , and am lucky to live on an elevated location.
As a retirement gift to myself I bought an AOR DV1 communications receiver, a very good bit of kit . I dusted down the range of scanners and my selection consists of the following _
Sony ICF 7600G
AOR 2000
Yupiteru 1000
Realistic 2042
Realistic 2036
Realistic DX394
Uniden 355
Baofeng UV5R
Various 446 PMR sets
Antennas consist of a vhf/uhf discone , mid band vhf folded dipole , marine band folded dipole , UHF folded dipole , fabricated 5 element uhf aerial , long wire and various other whips that can be used .
I am looking for a decent 0 to 30 MHz antenna and other new vhf /uhf aerials to replace the older ones . Never realised what can be seen on google earth ! | |
